For over 25 years, Shlomo has dedicated himself to actively shaping and enriching his community.
Shlomo Danzinger takes immense pride in his roles as a devoted husband and father to five exceptional children. In 2010, motivated by the desire to provide a better quality of life for his family, they relocated from New York to Surfside, a serene community nestled on the barrier island of Miami-Dade County.
Growing up as the eldest of twelve siblings instilled in Shlomo a strong sense of leadership. Over his 27+ years of experience working for both tech startups and industry giants, he honed his leadership skills, managing teams of over 100 members with a strategic and collaborative approach. His expertise proved instrumental in implementing advanced technologies across numerous state correctional institutions and law enforcement agencies.
As a Miami-Dade County resident, husband, and father, Shlomo is deeply committed to the prosperity and beauty of our community. He is passionately dedicated to ensuring its continual growth as a safe haven for families and loved ones.

In March 2022, Shlomo was elected mayor of Surfside, just nine months after the tragic collapse of Champlain Towers South. His campaign focused on condo safety, responsible development, pedestrian safety, and accountable governance. As mayor, he vowed to honor the memory of the 98 lives lost in the collapse.
Immediately following his election, Mayor Danzinger prioritized actions to commemorate the victims, including establishing a memorial board comprising their family members, installing a memorial banner at the collapse site, and organizing annual memorial events to commemorate the victims and express gratitude to first responders.
Throughout his tenure, Mayor Danzinger advocated for condo safety and responsible development, hosting workshops and implementing legislation. He reduced taxes for the first time in three years while building parks and outdoor spaces and enhancing community amenities, safety measures, and environmental initiatives.

On the site of the Surfside collapse, Mayor Danzinger and Israeli Ambassador David Roet discussed the IDF's contribution to the search, rescue, and recovery operations.
In his time in office, Mayor Danzinger proved himself to be a leader who was not afraid to tackle controversial issues. He consistently made national headlines as he remained steadfast in his pursuit of justice and progress, despite threats of physical harm. He was willing to take bold actions and make difficult decisions, even when they seemed unpopular. His leadership was characterized by courage, resilience, and a commitment to doing what is right for the community, even in the face of opposition.
Despite the myriad challenges he faced, Shlomo consistently delivered on the initiatives he set out to accomplish, even in the face of adversity. His journey was fueled by a love for his community, a passion for progress, and a resolute drive for positive change. His dedication to serving the community reflects his belief in unity and a collective desire to create a better future for everyone.
